Angie C. Earlywine, Senior Associate and Workplace Strategist, LEED AP, HOK, St. Louis, MO
Angie provides leadership in the areas of facility planning, facility benchmarking, change management and workplace strategy for clients in the Midwest Region of the U.S. Angie has experience in workplace transformations, leading strategic planning efforts, and managing the facility programming process for corporate, institutional, governmental, and private sector clients. She has extensive experience in workplace dignostics such as workforce profiling and workplace anthropolgy research which enables her clients to make informed facility and workplace decisions. She is skilled in change management communication planning and transition strategies which help organizations successfully implement workplace change. Angie is currently representing HOK their partnership with the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) on the recently published workplace study on Distributed Work published in February 2009 and being featured today.
Angie is a member of IFMA and has spoken on the topic of Distributed Workplace Strategies at the IFMA World Workplace conference in Orlando, the IFMA FM 3-D conference in SanDiego and will be speaking at the IFMA Facilities Fusion conference in Philidelphia next year.
Tom Polucci, AIA, IIDA, LEED GA, HOK, Chicago, IL
Bio: Tom Polucci is Group Vice President and Design Director for HOK’s Interiors Practice in Chicago. In this role, Tom oversees programming, space planning, finish and furniture selection, design and detail development, site inspection and construction administration for the firm’s interior design projects. Tom’s design philosophy is based on a desire to deliver practical, beautiful workplaces that meet the client’s operational goals. His recent clients include Allsteel, Millward Brown and Baker Tilly . He also serves on HOK’s Design Board and Board of Directors and is actively working on a new business venture for the firm, HOK Product Design.
As an award-winning interior designer, Tom has been featured in Environmental Design + Construction, The Wall Street Journal, and HGTV’s “Deserving Design.” He also served as a guest editor for Contract magazine in July 2009 and helped launch HOK’s firm-wide blog, “Life@HOK.” Tom attended Catholic University of America for his undergraduate work and received his Master’s Degree in Architecture at Washington University.

The Chicago Chapter of IFMA invites you to tour the Aqua! The famous skyscraper was recently awarded the Emporis Skyscraper Award and features distinctive design by renowned Chicago architect Jeanne Gang. In a recent article in the Chicago Tribune, Emporis was quoted as saying "Members of the jury praised Aqua for its fascinating shape, whose appearance changes dramatically depending on the perspective. It was also cited as a brilliant technical achievement for the precision of its construction, and lauded as an application of green design innovations to an extremely large building project." Aqua is also currently the tallest structure designed by a woman-led firm.
A presentation prior to the tour will feature speakers from Magellan Development, McHugh Construction and Studio Gang and attendees are welcome to attend a Networking event immediately following the tour.
Speakers
Mauricio Sánchez, Studio Gang
Mauricio joined Studio Gang Architects in 2004. He is currently part of the design teams for the Reedy Square project in Greenville, the Village
Center development in Chicago and the Harper Memorial Library renovation
for the University of Chicago. He finalized the construction administration
of the Aqua Tower mixed-use high-rise for which he was responsible for
detail design and the development of construction documents. Mr. Sánchez
has twenty years of planning, design, teaching and project management
experience. Mr. Sánchez's other projects include the town master planning for Varzea
Paulista in Brazil and the addition, renovation and long-range plan for the
First Presbyterian Church of Belvidere. In addition, Mr. Sánchez has an
interest in architectural theory and criticism, painting, sculpture and cultural
sustainability. His ongoing research on "tectonics" has proven valuable to
Studio Gang. Mr. Sánchez has been a LEED accredited professional since
2008.
