PAWS Chicago
December 9th and 10th of 2009, The Chicago IFMA Chicago Chapter, headed by the community service committee volunteered their time socializing with the animals on PAWS Chicago facility. The IFMA Chicago Chapter Community Service committee encourages and facilitates active participation by Chicago IFMA chapter members to volunteer activities throughout the Chicago community.
The event was held at PAWS Chicago new adoption center located at 1997 N. Clybourn Ave., Chicago, IL. The venue was divided into The Barbara Bradford "Kitty City" and The Marshall Field Family "Dog Town" for our members to socialize with both animals.
This is the Taj Majal of animal shelters. Compared to other animal shelters Paws is by far the cleanest and most organized of all the area animal shelters.
PAWS is amazing. If you are looking to adopt a pet, you should come here. The volunteers here are all animal lovers (it's so easy to see it). They're incredibly helpful and willing to share anything they know about the animal you are considering adopting. The facility itself is beautiful. Like others have said, no cages. The dogs are free to roam around in their rooms. The rooftop garden is gorgeous... And the dogs seem to love coming up there.
The adoption counselor that I encountered was thorough and knowledgeable. She ensured that we got all the information they had on the dog we adopted and that we completely understood the agreement..
Paws was receptive to our calls and questions after the adoption.
The dogs remain very socialized in the Paws environment because they receive a lot of human and canine interaction.

About PAWS Chicago
PAWS Chicago (Pets Are Worth Saving) is the city's largest No Kill humane organization, focused on alleviating Chicago's tragic pet homelessness problem. Since PAWS Chicago's founding, the number of homeless pets killed in the city has been reduced by more than half ófrom 42,561 pets killed in 1997 to 19,288 in 2008. PAWS Chicago envisions a No Kill Chicago and that dream is within reach because of important lifesaving work that is being done every single day.
